Ballet
Ages 5 and up.
Ballet is the foundation of all other dance styles. Ballet training increases coordination, self-confidence, musicality, strength, and focus. Our age-appropriate, structured classes are designed to foster individual development with an emphasis on proper body placement, dance etiquette, and fun. Concentration on the fundamentals of ballet technique establishes a strong foundation for various forms of dance. Ballet classes for ages 11 and older include both classical and contemporary ballet training and aims to challenge the dancers to expand their technique.
Shoe Requirements:
Ages 5 & 6 - pink leather full sole ballet slipper
Ages 7 to 10 - pink leather split sole ballet slipper
Ages 11 and older (Monday classes) – Capezio Hanami canvas split sole ballet slipper in nude
Adult Ballet/Barre – any style ballet shoes
Pointe
Ages 11+ with a minimum of 2 years of consecutive ballet training. The ability to participate in pointe is at the discretion of the ballet teacher and based on the physical and emotional maturity of each individual dancer. Pointe class expands the dancers technical skills in classical and contemporary ballet.
Shoe Requirements:
Properly fitted and approved pointe shoes
